New York Dolls – Dance Like A Monkey

Given that most of the original band members are dead, I’d never expected anything more to ever come out of the New York Dolls, so I was very surprised to see this video. Not only is it funny, it’s scathingly political, and a very catchy tune to boot. Enjoy.

Their biography claims their sound “lies somewhere within the realm of Dead Can Dance, Boards of Canada, Cocteau Twins, This Mortal Coil, and Tool”. I say they just sound amazing. They are Drop Black Sky. Go listen. I won’t ask you to thank me for the tip later – I already know you’re grateful.
