It’s been a long while since I’ve posted anything – no good reason why, just not feeling the need, I guess. I had to get up and say something, though, about the brand new album by Sigur Rós, “Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust” (which translates to “With a buzz in our ears we play endlessly”).
Each of Sigur Rós’ albums have been progressively happier sounding, and this album continues the trend. It’s a much more stripped down album than previous efforts – where Ágætis Byrjun and the utterly brilliant ( ) swept and soared, this album keeps its feet largely on the ground with simpler arrangements and more acoustic instrumentation. This only serves to make the grand moments all the more epic, though, and any fan will be well served to take the plunge.
